Oliverio reflects on first year in office

It’s been nearly a year since Pierluigi Oliverio took office and he notes that a majority of his work has landed in the success column.
In some of his early work, the District 6 council member says he “initially shot for the moon and fell, on a star.” The quip is reminiscent of his first act as a council member, when he set out to get volunteers to help with park chores that were not getting met because of layoffs and budget constraints.

| Willow Glen Relay For Life holds kickoff meeting

Although the weather was cold and rainy and the wind was howling, a large group of people made it to Willow Glen’s Relay For Life kickoff.
This year’s Relay, the eighth annual, will take place on May 17-18 at Willow Glen High School’s track from 10 a.m. to 10 a.m. One of San Jose’s oldest Relays, this year’s Willow Glen event promises to be even more fruitful than last year.
