Willow Glen Foundation holds successful fund-raiser for schools

This year’s Willow Glen Foundation fund-raiser, which supports activities for Willow Glen Middle and High Schools, was deemed a success. The event moved to a larger venue, the Garden Theater on Lincoln, and contributions rose substantially.
The event collected more than $25,000, more than twice the $12,000 collected last year. The Garden Theater Building’s larger space also added more features, and more ways to raise money. There were three wineries instead of just one. There was cheese, chocolate and gelato tasting as well as a balloon fundraiser. Read more...

| District 6 run-off candidate still in question
San Jose chooses new mayor

While one District 6 candidate—Pier-luigi Oliverio—has been chosen for a March runoff, the second remains a contest between Steve Tedesco with 4,929 votes and Clark Williams with 4,883, a difference of only 46 votes as of Monday, Nov. 20.
The count of all the votes, including all of the provisional and absentee ballots, was expected to be complete at press time on Monday, Nov. 27, but vote verification will take another week or two. Read
