Junior League invites prospective members to open houses
The Junior League of San Jose invites women who are interested in exploring membership in the non-profit organization whose slogan is “Women Building Better Communities” to one of three open houses to be held this summer in San Jose.
Junior League of San Jose members work with Bay Area organizations that foster positive early childhood development such as the Bring Me A Book Foundation, the Children’s Discovery Museum’s Wonder Cabinet and the Family Giving Tree. The group also sponsors an annual Volunteer Recognition Luncheon honoring community volunteers. New members can look forward to the upcoming Feb. 29 fashion show fundraiser as a highlight of the 2007-08 League year.
Open Houses are scheduled for Thursday, July 19, at 6:30 p.m.; Saturday, Aug. 4, at 9 a.m. and Thursday, Aug. 16, at 6:30 p.m. at the Kirk- Farrington House in San Jose, located at 1615 Dry Creek Road in San Jose’s Willow Glen neighborhood.
