Large crowd shows up to savor Yeager win

It was wall-to-wall people at Ken Yeager's victory celebration on June 6, primary election night, with the party room at Hobee's Restaurant in the Pruneyard bursting with people. The District 6 San Jose City Councilman handily won the Santa Clara County District 4 seat vacated by Jim Beall who was termed out and running unopposed in the Democratic primary for an assembly seat. Yeager thanked all of his staff and a large number of his supporters by name at the celebration and later sent each an e-mail thanking them for everything. "Whether it was making a contribution, endorsing my candidacy, volunteering in the office, making phone calls, walking precincts, hosting a coffee or fundraiser, putting up a lawn sign, talking to neighbors and co-workers or voting for me, it all added up to my ability to win the race for County Supervisor." With 100 percent of precincts reporting, Yeager won outright garnering 51.96 percent of the vote to eliminate the need for a run off. Yeager is pictured above with his campaign and city council office staff.
