Canoas receives Distinguished School award

The staff at Canoas Elementary School (above) proudly displays a banner proclaiming the school a California Distinguished School 2004 during a ceremony held last month. Bottom: State Superintendent of Schools Jack O’Connor and Canoas Principal Carol Garcia hold a plaque celebrating the school’s new status. Garcia says the award not only honors the school, but the entire Willow Glen community it serves, including parents, teachers and students.
